Gameplay Regulations

Elite Player Mandate

You must start all players rated 89 overall and higher. Any elite starter must play at least 2 minutes of actual game time before they are eligible to be subbed out.

Defensive Protocol

On-Ball Requirement

Once the ball crosses half-court, you must manually control the defender guarding the ball-handler. Off-balling is strictly monitored.

Play Recognition & Help

You are allowed to click on the off-ball defender if a user is running a play. However, if they don't make the pass, you must click back onto the on-ball defender immediately.

If you are playing on-ball and get beat, you are permitted to switch to the next defender closest to the ball handler to provide help.

Manual Doubles

Clicking off your defender to let the AI take over while you bring a manual second defender is considered off-balling and is prohibited.

Zone Defense

When running a zone, you are required to manually shift to the defender closest to the ball-handler at all times. Static off-balling in a zone is a foul.

Offensive Protocol

Screening Restrictions

Only PF and C positions are permitted to set manual on-ball screens. No guard-to-guard (1-3) manual screening allowed.

Pick and Fade Protocol

Status: Restricted Form of 5-Out

Calling pick and fade and driving to the lane to score is not allowed. You must pass out of the pick and fade.

Freelance/Spacing

5-Out plays and freelances are strictly banned. 4-Out 1-In is the mandatory league standard for spacing.

Restricted Badges

Critical: No badge can be upgraded to Legend tier.

Activity Check

Cut days occur every 4 days. Minimum of 25 games required to maintain your spot in the league.

Position Height Restrictions

Shooting Guard (SG) Max 6'7
Small Forward (SF) Max 6'9
Power Forward (PF) Max 6'11
Center (C) No Limit

Failure to comply with height caps results in automatic roster forfeiture.

Player Position Rules (In-Depth)

Whatever two positions 2K has that player as on his Player Card, he is ALLOWED to play — NO MATTER WHAT HIS HEIGHT IS!

The "1-Up, 1-Down" Rule

Players may play one position above or below their Primary Position based on standard 2K ordering.

Primary Definition

The 1st position listed on the player card is the PRIMARY.

Practical Example: SG/SF Card
PG SG SF

Since SG is Primary: This player is allowed to play PG, SG, or SF within league height guidelines.

Note: All "1-Up/1-Down" movements must still adhere to Max Height restrictions.
